|:||This project saw two mews houses knocked into one. The two original houses contained lots of small rooms linked by corridors. Having windows on only one elevation meant these rooms were dark and stuffy. S+T combined the two properties, with the dominant architectural feature being a full height stair hall. This contains a bespoke metal staircase, and it top lit by roof lights (that open and close automatically to ventilate/cool the property). An internal courtyard was also created in the rear to provide some private external space. The door handles, internally, are bespoke. Aesthetically the project references the slightly industrial and rust materials of a traditional mews house.|
