:At the turn of the millennium, The New Luxor Theatre was planned to animate Kop van Zuid, Rotterdam's new harbour quarter. Facing both the River Maas and Rijn Harbour, its deep red facade wraps right round the building. The auditorium seats 1,500; the acoustics are adjustable to meet the requirements of a wide range of performances, from opera to electronic music. Warm reds and oranges are prominent on the exterior and in the interior, and the main foyer and restaurant offer spectacular views across the city.
