|:||The complete renovation and enlargement of a substantial Grade II Listed property located in the historic St John’s Wood Conservation Area, London. A new basement provides the additional accommodation needed to suit a growing family, whilst the historic features of the original house have been sympathetically restored or reinstated where previously lost. The of use of traditional materials and details matching the original fabric help to integrate the basement with the rest of the house, whilst the use of natural light via roof lights and light wells removes the impression of being underground. A new swimming pool, spa, sauna and gym are located discretely beneath the front garden. In collaboration with specialist consultants, careful consideration was given to integrating ventilation, lighting and audio visual equipment to make it as unobtrusive as possible without compromising on performance. Bespoke joinery, finishes, and ironmongery were developed by Greenway Architects specifically for this project to make this a truly unique property.|
